Meeting with Bulgarian novelist Theodora Dimova and launch of the Czech edition of her novel Adriana.

Translator David Bernstein, Marcel Černý (Institute of Slavonic Studies, Czech Academy of Sciences – Charles University Arts Faculty), Ivana Srbková (Czech National Library – Slavonic Library) and publisher Petr Štengl are due to attend.

The novelist, dramatist and journalist Theodora Dimova ranks among the best-known, most popular and most critically acclaimed of contemporary Bulgarian authors. The novel Adriana describes an unusual friendship between a very wealthy lady of 93 and a young, stunningly beautiful student of English… A debate with the writer, her translator and other experts will provide a platform to discuss the direction of contemporary Bulgarian literature and its key writers.

The evening is being held in cooperation with the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Prague.
