  • Where: Václav Havel Library, Ostrovní 13, Prague 110 00
  • When: April 24, 2023, 19:00 – 21:00

A discussion evening on the 110th anniversary of the birth of an inconspicuous but no less admirable figure in post-war Czechoslovak history, Břevnov monastery abbot Jan Anastáz Opasek, and the Catholic lay organisation Opus bonum, which in exile in Germany moderated open, prejudice-free dialogue among representatives of various outlooks on Czech history and culture.

Confirmed guests include people who were involved: Ivan Binar, Lída Rakušanová, Jefim Fištejn, Václav Peřich and Dáša Vokatá, who will perform at the close.

The discussion will be helmed by historian and writer Petr Placák, whose Křesťanský zápas o českou věc (The Christian Struggle Over the Czech Cause) explores Opasek and Opus bonum.
