Canadian lecturer Paul Wilson is an excellent translation of Czech literature and he is also known for his activity in The Plastic People of the Universe, a Czech group in which he was one of the voices. For many years he has been frequently supplying articles for the Canadian and American media on the Czech literature and culture. A collection of his essays and articles on Czech topics is valuable for the Czech readers in that it enables them to see Czech underground, dissent and literature from the outside, yet with a profound and in-depth view to perceive much of their life from a new and unusual perspective.
