Paul Wilson receives Jiří Theiner Award

As part of this year’s Book World festival, the journalist and translator Paul Wilson was presented this afternoon with the Jiří Theiner Award, named after the long-term editor-in-chief of the magazine Index on Censorship. The prize, which is bestowed on living persons or active institutions operating abroad whose actions or long-term efforts have significantly contributed to promoting Czech literature beyond the country’s borders, comes with a financial award of £1,000. Paul Wilson was nominated for the prize by the Václav Havel Library.
