The Havel Collection
October 2, 2012
On the eve of what would have been Václav Havel’s birthday, the ceremonial presentation of new translations of his plays under the title The Havel Collection will take place at the Czech Centre in New York on 4 October 2012 at 19:00.
The collection is composed of five volumes – The Memo, The Vaněk Plays, The Increased Difficulty of Concentration, Leaving, and The Pig – that representatively map Václav Havel’s entire creative trajectory, and in the case of the one act play Dozens of Cousins, presents it to English-speaking readers for the first time. The ceremonial evening will include a debate with translators Štěpán Šimek and Edward Einhorn. More information can be found here.
