Mountain Hotel between Cakes and Puppets

The premiere of Václav Havel's one-act play, Mountain Hotel, performed by the Buchty a loutky (Cakes and Puppets) theatre, was extremely successful. The crowded hall of the permanent exhibition of the Library in the Montmatre Gallery watched the intertwining fates of hotel guests and staff breathlessly. The audience was alternately favouring this or that character, gushing about the beauty of Náměšť nad Oslavou, disappearing with a local train blinking into the darkness of a tunnel...
