Without Věra Jirousová

February 27, 2011

Illustration

The poet and art historian Věra Jirousová was one of the regular visitors of Montmartre Gallery. Her opinions and insights, unconventionally exuberant and yet very specific and penetrating, were a great inspiration for us.

We were pleased that at the beginning of February she accepted our invitation to participate in the "chain reading" of a part of Vladimír Vokolek’s poem within the composed evening February in Ether. But... she did not show up at the agreed time. The reason, which we learned two days later, took our breath away: almost exactly one month after the death of Mojmír Horyna, we will again say goodbye to a person of extraordinary character who had something to say.
