In linguistics a blend word or blend is a word formed from the parts of two or more other words. Though a marginal lexicological term in the linguistics sphere, blending is proving to be an inspiring subject for many fields, from mathematics to cultural anthropology to art.

Things combine and cross, permeating and fertilising each other. But above all the principle of blending can serve as a useful metaphor in exploring human (and also computer) creativity.
