  • When: January 9, 2015, 19:00 – 21:00

Since 1999 the Zblov-based Opus publishing house has been focused on poetry, though it also issues the work of prose writers that are not well known in the Czech environment (Robert Walser, Arno Schmidt).

It has brought out translations of the poetry of Vladislav Khodasevich, Yves Bonnefoy, Czesław Miłos and Wallace Stevens and the essays of Zbigniew Herbert. The collections of Czech poets Petr Halmay, Jiří Červenka and Štěpán Nosek are an essential part of the company’s publishing schedule. Freshly published books will be presented during the evening: Carl Seelig Putování s Robertem Walserem (Wandering with Robert Walser), Arno Schmidt Brandovo blato (Brand’s Heath), Josef Hrdlička Kočka v ohni (Cat in the Fire) and Petr Halmay.
