Alpbach Talks: Negotiation 101
- Where: Václav Havel Library, Ostrovní 13, Prague 110 00
- When: April 24, 2026, 19:00 – 21:00
Negotiation is not just a matter of politics or diplomacy. We negotiate every day – whether we want to or not. It is a skill that helps to conduct dialogue, understand different positions and reach an agreement, and without which no civil society can function. Blanka Šoulavá will offer an introduction to negotiation, in which she will present the basic principles and concepts, show what really helps in negotiation and what myths we often associate with it. The workshop will focus on how to think about your own goals, how to better understand the opposing party and why it pays off not to underestimate preparation. The workshop will include practical exercises, using which participants will be able to try out negotiation on the spot.
Blanka Šoulavá works as a Digital Policy Lead at the organization Česko.Digital and leads negotiation courses at the organization Vyjednáváme. She graduated from Harvard Kennedy School, where she previously worked as a coach at the negotiation clinic and an assistant for negotiation and conflict resolution courses.
