- When: October 25, 2024, 19:00 – 21:00
In her memoir Moje píseň pro Čechy (A Song for Bohemia), the US writer and singer Anne Marie Kenny looks back on her remarkable life, but above all her experiences in post-revolutionary Bohemia in the early 1990s. The book, dedicated to Václav Havel and the nation of her forebears, is issued by the Práh publishing house.
The reading and discussion will be attended by the author of the book and Martin Palouš, who penned its foreword. Anne Marie Kenny will also sing the song “When We Only Have Love” (originally a chanson by Jaques Brel) with her own lyrics referencing the November 1989 Velvet Revolution. She first performed the song to a Czech audience in October of 1990 at the Reduta club during a concert of hers at the invitation of newly elected President Václav Havel.
