During a subsequent debate we will learn, among other things, what life was like for Kamila and Václav Benda in the context of communist totalitarianism, Soviet occupation and so-called normalisation. The mathematician, former dissident and civic activist will also recalls events surrounding Charter 77 and the Committee for the Defence of the Unjustly Prosecuted. The book is a celebration of the love of freedom, the sense of justice and the beauty of the Christian faith.

Guests: dissident and Charter 77 signatory Kamila Bendová and historian Michal Stehlík, director of the Museum of Czech Literature. The patrons of the book will be Anna Šabatová and Václav Malý.

The event will be moderated by historian and philosopher Petr Hlaváček, Director of the Department of Research and Education at the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes.
