The 61st Václav Havel Bench was ceremonially unveiled in Taipei on June 3, 2026. It was unveiled in Da'an Park by the President of the Senate of the Czech Republic, Miloš Vytrčil, together with the dramaturg of the Václav Havel Library, Jáchym Topol, and the mayor of Taipei, Chang Wang-an. The ceremony was accompanied by the exhibition Václav Havel: a known unknown from the production of the Václav Havel Library.

The Václav Havel Bench is a memorial site dedicated to Václav Havel. It consists of two armchairs connected by a round table with a tree growing through the center. The construction of the Václav Havel Benches is a global project initiated by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the USA Petr Gandalovič together with the architect and designer Bořek Šípek. The aim of this project, coordinated and sponsored by the Václav Havel Library, is to create a network of places in public space that can contribute to meetings and real dialogue - places where it will be possible to discuss and think in the spirit of Václav Havel's ideals and life attitudes.
